Charlottesville Health & Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead our HR initiatives and ensure staffing excellence. You will recruit top talent, onboard new hires, manage payroll, and support benefits and policy questions.

As a culture ambassador, you’ll foster employee engagement, coordinate staffing, and collaborate across departments to maintain a compliant, caring workplace. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience in Human Resources or related field.
• Understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
• Ability to coordinate people and resources.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead recruitment efforts to hire the best candidates for each role.
• Oversee onboarding and new hire orientation; Ensure records compliance.
• Manage bi-weekly payroll processes and timecard accuracy.
• Support staff and serve as an HR resource for benefits, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare schedules and staffing; ensure adequate staffing ratios.
• Ensure the electronic scheduling system stays up to date to reflect staffing.
• Coordinate employee time-off requests to ensure proper coverage of nursing units.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with other departments.

As the Director of Human Resources, you'll be at the forefront of our mission of providing Care Beyond Compare by ensuring that our healthcare center stays fully staffed with exceptional employees. You'll serve as our culture ambassador – helping new hires feel comfortable and get acquainted with the team, advancing employee engagement, encouraging employee growth and development, and so much more.

What You’ll Do

What You Need

• Experience in Human Resources or related field.

• Proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
