Job summary

New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Director of the Human Research Protections Program Office (HRPP). The role supervises HRPP staff, ensures compliance with federal regulations, and advances ethical research practices across NYSPI and affiliated partners.

Qualifications

• MA/MS degree or equivalent; CIP preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in HRPP at academic medical center with supervisory experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with federal regulations and agency guidelines (HHS, FDA, HIPAA, FERPA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee HRPP operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Advise on IRB reliance and federal reporting.
• Lead and develop HRPP staff and coordinate with researchers.
• Collaborate with enterprise partners and policy committees.
• Maintain training and education for investigators and staff.
• Build relationships with NYSPI, RFMH, OMH and other leaders.
