Job summary

Rocket EMS, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Director of Human Resources to lead and modernize the HR function across multiple locations, including San Jose and Carson City.

The role requires strategic vision and hands-on execution to align people initiatives with fast-growing manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of HR leadership, experience with manufacturing environments, and a track record of transforming HR processes while partnering with executives to drive talent

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with leadership responsibility.
• 5+ years leading HR teams and/or a substantial HR function.
• Experience in manufacturing or similarly complex environments is preferred.
• Experience improving or modernizing an HR organization is desirable.
• Experience supporting multiple locations and rapid growth is a plus.
• Knowledge of California and Nevada employment laws is preferred.
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for HR across multiple locations.
• Assess current HR organization and implement changes to improve effectiveness and service.
• Establish clear roles and eliminate inefficiencies within HR.
• Develop scalable HR policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
• Partner with executive leadership on organization structure, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
• Establish job architecture, descriptions, leveling, and compensation controls.
• Ensure compensation decisions are competitive and equitable.
• Strengthen performance management with clear expectations and accountability.
• Coach leaders on employee relations and organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee complex employee relations matters and investigations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, CA, NV, and local laws.
• Manage onboarding, benefits, employee relations, development, and HRIS.
• Develop HR metrics and reporting to support executive decisions.
• Evaluate HR tech and processes for automation and data integrity.
• Build and lead a high-performing HR team across sites.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to meet workforce needs.
• Support organizational changes, expansions, and restructurings.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
