Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Elyria, OH, seeks a Director of HR to lead HR across Elyria and Auburn sites, guiding talent strategy, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance to support a high‑performing, inclusive workforce.

The role partners with senior leadership to shape culture, implement programs, drive workforce development, and ensure legal and regulatory adherence while delivering value to customers in aerospace and defense.

Qualifications

• 10 years progressive HR experience with 3+ years in management.
• Experience in union environments and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of local and federal labor laws and CBAs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present to executives.
• BA degree required; MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR department across two sites (Elyria and Auburn) with ~400 employees.
• Develop HR policies, worker relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, recognition.
• Manage labor relations and CBAs, coordinate with union leadership.
• Ensure legal compliance and data confidentiality.
• Drive HR process improvements using data analytics.
• Partner with senior leadership to align HR with business goals.
