CSG Talent seeks a Director of Construction to lead heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, and interchanges. You will drive operational performance, oversee project teams, manage budgets, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across a portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in heavy civil construction, with senior operations leadership experience.
• Experience overseeing multiple heavy civil projects or a large portfolio.
• Strong background in heavy transportation projects (highways, bridges, interchanges).
• Experience managing project financials, budgets, schedules, and profitability.
• Experience developing project managers, superintendents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with DOT contracts, safety regs, and QA procedures.
• Experience working with public-sector agencies, municipalities, owners, and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on oversight.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple heavy civil construction projects ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with objectives.
• Direct project managers, superintendents, and other leaders through the project lifecycle.
• Lead on heavy transportation projects including highways, interstates, bridges, and DOT work.
• Monitor budgets, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and profitability across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to set goals and identify growth opportunities.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers and superintendents.
• Promote safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance and quality standards.
• Maintain strong client, subcontractor, and stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinate resources to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
• Support preconstruction and estimating for successful handoffs.
• Assist business development to expand the heavy civil portfolio.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for safety, cost, schedule, and performance.
