Job summary

Manitou Fund is seeking a Director of Grants and Grantmaking Operations to lead the administration, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement of its grantmaking activities. You will own the full grant lifecycle, from application to closeout, while aligning with governance and mission.

The role requires hands-on workflow design and meticulous execution, serving as the office of one in coordinating grants, deadlines, documentation, and communications with executive leadership and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong experience in grantmaking or nonprofit operations.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the grantmaking lifecycle from application through closeout.
• Develop and improve grant processes, templates, calendars, and controls.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable grant requirements and reporting.
• Coordinate with leadership and stakeholders to collect budgets, outcomes, and supporting documents.
• Prepare materials for CEO, Board, and governance reviews.
• Maintain organized grant files and ongoing grant status dashboards.
• Monitor deadlines, payment schedules, and reporting obligations.
• Provide quality control and proofreading for submissions and deliverables.
• Report on trends, risks, and operational needs across the portfolio.
