Job summary

Cast & Crew is seeking a Director, Payroll Tax to lead payroll tax compliance and advisory across the United States and Canada. You will manage a team, ensure filings and audits, and partner with Finance, HR, and Technology to optimize tax processes.

The role requires deep payroll tax expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives while delivering accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive payroll tax experience, including 5+ in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of US/Canada payroll tax regulations and filings.
• Experience leading teams in large multi-state organizations.
• Excellent communication and project-management abilities.
• Hands-on with AI tools in payroll discipline and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of payroll tax professionals.
• Oversee all payroll tax filings, payments, and compliance.
• Serve as primary contact for regulatory agency inquiries and audits.
• Develop and execute payroll tax strategies with leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee year-end processing and related reporting.
• Maintain policies and internal controls for payroll tax.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Technology on system enhancements.
