Job summary

Disney Experiences in Glendale, CA seeks a Director, Global Export Controls & Technical Governance to own the enterprise export control framework, mitigate national security and geopolitical risk, and oversee the centralized export control tower across all business units.

You will lead a team, partner with IC@D and Legal resources, and drive training, audits, and automation to enable compliant global product development and cross-border data transfers.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive corporate experience directing export compliance frameworks, global trade compliance, international technical transfers, or corporate regulatory auditing.
• Leadership experience managing software lifecycles, technical professionals, and multi-layered compliance networks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and international export control regimes (EAR, OFAC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute the long-term enterprise export controls strategy and governance standards.
• Govern the Hub-and-Spoke Matrix Operating Model with standardized KPIs and compliance metrics.
• Mandate, design, and oversee global systemic screening of suppliers, vendors, and customers.
• Provide strategic leadership to the multi-functional export control tower.
• Partner with IC@D to interpret complex export control changes and translate them into enterprise standards.
• Lead trade education initiatives across Disney and deploy training globally.
• Maintain audit readiness and oversee internal trade self-assessments and remediation.
• Oversee automation review and configure screening workflows with Global Trade Automation & Data Governance.
• Serve as escalation point for high-risk export control issues.
