Job summary

1969 Disney Merchandise Sourcing & Dist., LLC seeks a Director for Global Export Controls & Technical Governance to lead the enterprise export control framework across all business units. The role drives regulatory defensibility, risk mitigation for dual-use tech, and automated solutions for product development and Imagineering globally.

The position requires 15+ years in export compliance, strong leadership, and deep EAR/OFAC knowledge.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive corporate experience directing export compliance frameworks and global trade compliance.
Leadership experience managing software lifecycles, technical professionals, and multi-layered compliance networks.
Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and international export control regimes (EAR, OFAC) and technology transfer protocols.
BA/BS in International Business or Economics preferred.
Ideal candidate will be a Certified Export Specialist.

Responsibilities

Formulate and execute the long-term enterprise export controls strategy and governance standards.
Govern the Hub-and-Spoke operating model with standardized KPIs and compliance metrics.
Oversee global screening of suppliers, vendors, and customers for compliance.
Provide strategic leadership to the export control tower across multiple tracks and teams.
Partner with IC@D to interpret changes in export controls, technology transfer, and sanctions.
Create proactive internal controls and address historical control gaps.
Lead trade education initiatives and deploy enterprise-wide training on governance.
