Job summary

States Manufacturing Corporation in the Twin Cities region seeks a Director of FP&A to lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance management across our multi-plant manufacturing network.

You will partner with the CFO, plant leaders, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to translate operational drivers into financial insights, improve forecast accuracy, and drive profitability, cash flow and cost discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• MBA, CPA, or other advanced qualification preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting multiple plants, business units, or geographic locations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing financial drivers and cost accounting.
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance management.
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow drivers.
• Experience presenting financial results to senior leadership.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual operating plan, budget, and long-range planning processes.
• Develop and maintain rolling forecasts for revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow.
• Establish consistent planning processes, assumptions, timelines, and standards across plants and business units.
• Partner with plant and business leaders to develop driver-based financial plans.
• Analyze changes in business conditions and update forecasts accordingly.
• Develop scenario analyses to evaluate opportunities, risks, and actions.
• Improve forecast accuracy through enhanced modeling and analytics.
• Lead monthly financial performance reporting for executive leadership.
• Develop concise management reporting that explains results vs budget/forecast/prior year.
• Establish KPIs and dashboards across plants and units.
• Translate financial results into actionable insights.
