Job summary

Tongass FCU seeks a Director of Education & Community Development to lead financial education and community outreach initiatives across Southeast Alaska. You will oversee The Commons, coordinate curriculum with the VP, and collaborate with schools, nonprofits, and branch teams to expand education access.

You will train staff, manage events, and track programs for board reporting, while representing the credit union in community settings with professionalism and warmth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
• Experience coordinating community programs and delivering education.
• Ability to teach both youth and adults in classrooms, workshops, and events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with VP to develop financial education curriculum.
• Coordinate staff training on BALANCE platform and outreach.
• Build and sustain partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and agencies.
• Lead community events at The Commons and coordinate scheduling.
• Plan Youth and Adult financial education curricula and events.
• Track activities, report monthly updates, and ensure program compliance.
