Job summary

Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner with senior leadership to manage resources, grant commitments, and long‑term spending plans while ensuring strong internal controls.

You will supervise accounting staff, coordinate the annual audit, and produce clear, narrative financial materials for the board and executives. This role is based at GOCO's Denver HQ with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to explain financial info to non‑accountants.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and think critically.
• Integrity and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of the annual operating budget with senior leadership.
• Maintain and improve financial forecasting models, cash flow, and scenario analyses.
• Evaluate resources, grant commitments, and financial implications of expenditures.
• Prepare timely financial reports with clear narrative and dashboards.
• Monitor cash balances, liquidity, and coordinate cash transfers.
• Coordinate annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain internal controls and supervise accounting staff.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
