About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a highly qualified Director of Finance to oversee all financial operations for their **East London, Eastern Cape** facility. This senior leadership role is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate finance, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of financial regulations. This position requires a dedicated on-site presence at the **East London** office to effectively manage the finance department and collaborate with other business units. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial strategy and ensuring the fiscal health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment activities to ensure optimal financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), and tax laws.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee internal controls and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Collaborate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team and support decision-making.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting roles, with at least 4 years in a senior finance leadership position.
• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax laws.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive process improvements.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and internal controls.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site in East London, Eastern Cape.
