About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company operating in East London, Eastern Cape , is seeking a highly competent and experienced Financial Manager. This pivotal role oversees the company's financial operations, including financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. The Financial Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, providing strategic financial insights, and supporting the executive team in decision-making. Based in the dynamic industrial hub of East London , this position offers a compelling opportunity to contribute significantly to the company's financial health and strategic growth. The role involves a hybrid work arrangement, blending on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the finance department, including accounting, payroll, and treasury functions.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Oversee the budget process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure robust internal controls are in place and operating effectively.
• Manage cash flow and optimize working capital.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to senior management to support business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements.
• Drive process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS) and South African tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Pastel) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage a finance team and work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Eastern Cape region.
