Job summary

Health Link Home Health & Hospice, based in San Francisco, is seeking a Director of Finance to own the company’s financial performance across all three branches. You will design reporting, controls, and forecasting, direct the accounting function, and sit where decisions get made—own outcomes rather than merely report them.

You’ll lead company-wide planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with branch-level P&L reporting, cash management, and compliance with Medicare and state requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior finance role with direct P&L ownership and team management.
• Experience building financial systems, reporting, and controls.
• Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and multi-site or multi-entity close.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Own company-wide planning, budgeting, and forecasting, plus branch-level P&L and margin reporting.
• Implement financial controls, approval workflows, and cost-tracking systems.
• Direct the accounting function—AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, close—and lead the team.
• Manage cash flow, banking, lender relationships, and vendor/contract review.
• Oversee revenue cycle performance including A/R days, denials, and Medicare cost reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and state requirements.
• Regularly report performance, forecasts, and recommendations to ownership.

The role

Health Link Home Health & Hospice has served the Bay Area for over two decades with strong systems and consistent growth. We're hiring a Director of Finance to own the company's financial performance across all three branches. This is a build-and-own role. You'll design the reporting, controls, and forecasting the business runs on, direct the accounting function, and sit where the decisions get made — owning outcomes rather than reporting on them.

What You'll Own

• Company-wide planning, budgeting, and forecasting, plus branch-level P&L and margin reporting
• Financial controls, approval workflows, and cost-tracking systems, with appropriate segregation of duties
• The accounting function — AP/AR, payroll processing, reconciliations, and close — including the team
• Cash flow, banking and lender relationships, and vendor, insurance, and contract review
• Revenue cycle performance alongside billing and clinical leadership: A/R days, denials, collections, and Medicare cost reporting
• Compliance of financial practices with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and state requirements
• Regular reporting of performance, forecasts, and recommendations to ownership

What You'll Need

• 5+ years in a senior finance role with direct P&L ownership and team management
• Demonstrated experience building financial systems, reporting, and controls — not only operating existing ones
• Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP and multi-site or multi-entity close
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation, or another reliable way to travel between branches

Preferred

healthcare, home health, or other regulated services experience; familiarity with healthcare billing and reimbursement; audit or cost-report experience; CPA or MBA.
