Job summary

The Moore in Miami invites a seasoned Director of Finance to lead the financial health of its hotel, restaurant, private club, events and workplace operations.

You will oversee all accounting functions, deliver timely monthly and annual statements, ensure internal controls, and provide analysis to optimize profitability across multi-revenue streams while collaborating with hotel, dining, events and membership teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in hospitality or multi-department environments.
• Director-level experience (Director of Finance/Controller) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, GL, A/P, A/R, budgeting, forecasting.
• Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with audits, internal controls, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Housed in the District’s circa-1922 Moore building, the reimagined, nearly 90,000-square-foot space integrates two, four-story structures located at the intersection of NE 40th Street and NE 2nd Avenue, and includes Elastika, the site-specific commission created by the late artist and architect Zaha Hadid for the inaugural Design Miami/ exhibition in 2005.The Moore’s core programming extends throughout the building’s four floors: The first floor is anchored by a public, all-day dining concept, Torno Subito by Massimo Botturra. The second floor will house The Club at The Moore, a private members-only destination inclusive of a restaurant, multiple bars, lounges and private dining and event spaces. Located on the third floor, The Workplace at The Moore offers leasable private offices, dedicated desks and limited communal workplace access. The Hotel at The Moore is located on the building’s fourth floor and offers 15 hotel suites that are available for member and non-member bookings. Founded by entrepreneur Brady Wood, WoodHouse creates, owns and operates experiential concepts, ranging from private clubs, restaurants and hotels to live music and entertainment venues.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and hands on Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of a dynamic, multi-faceted hospitality and membership organization in Miami, encompassing a hotel, restaurant, private social club, events, and workplace environment.The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health, accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance. This position requires a highly organized, analytical, and collaborative finance professional who can work closely with hotel, restaurant, club, events, membership, and workplace teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all day-to-day finance and accounting functions across the hotel, restaurant, private club, events, and workplace operations.Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast and communicate significant variances to leadership.Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business and operational decisions.Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures.Ensure financial practices comply with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.Identify opportunities to improve profitability, control costs, and increase operational efficiency.Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes across all business operations.Generate, review, and process invoices accurately and timely.Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.Apply payments to accounts and maintain accurate financial records.Review vendor invoices, approvals, coding, and payment processes.Maintain accurate vendor and customer account information.Resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies professionally and efficiently.Prepare monthly accounts receivable and accounts payable reports.Work closely with membership, events, restaurant, hotel, and workplace teams to ensure accurate billing and timely collections.Reconcile daily revenue from all outlets and revenue streams, including hotel, club, restaurant, events, membership, and workplace operations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within hospitality, hotels, restaurants, private clubs, membership organizations, or similarly complex multi-department environments.Prior experience in a Director of Finance, Director of Accounting, Controller, or comparable senior finance position strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of financial statements, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.Experience with audits, internal controls, and compliance.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and operational teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.High level of integrity, discretion, accuracy, and attention to detail.Required ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following environments is highly desirable:Luxury or lifestyle hotelsRestaurants and food & beverage operationsMixed-use hospitality propertiesMulti-revenue-stream businessesBenefits: Competitive benefit packageWhy work with usThis is a chance to be part of a community that doesn't just follow trends — it sets them.
