Job summary

Hotel Amarano in Burbank, a Crescent Hotels & Resorts property, seeks a Director of Finance to lead financial operations and strategy. You will oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and internal controls, while advising the hotel leadership on profitability and strategic decisions.

The role requires 5+ years of progressive finance leadership in hospitality, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with industry systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, MBA, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, hospitality accounting standards, and financial systems (Birchstreet, Profitsword, Ultipro, Opera PMS, Toast).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Adobe.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hotel’s financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Advise the General Manager and department heads on financial matters as a key executive team member.
• Manage AP, AR, Payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local laws, and hotel brand standards.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop and execute the hotel’s business strategy and drive cost control.

Located in the heart of Burbank’s entertainment district, the hotel is just steps from Warner Bros. Studios and minutes from Disney, NBC, Universal Studios and Hollywood. Recently reimagined, Amarano features stylish guest rooms and suites, FYC Bar + Kitchen, a heated outdoor pool, fitness center and 2,200 square feet of flexible event space.

Financial Leadership:

• Ensures timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Serve as a key member of the hotel executive team, advising the General Manager and department heads on financial matters.
• Manage AP, AR, Payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Accounting & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, local laws, and hotel brand standards.
• Completes day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and cash management.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate financial records.
• Liaise with corporate external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.

Strategic Planning:

• Partner with the General Manager to develop and execute the hotel’s business strategy.
• Drive cost control initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, MBA, or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, hospitality accounting standards, and financial systems (Birchstreet, Profitsword, Ultipro, Opera PMS, Toast).
