Job Details

Responsibilities

As the Permanent Director of Finance, you will be responsible for

  • Overseeing all financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Managing the allocation and utilization of federal funds and grants, ensuring all expenditures are in line with the terms and conditions of the funding.
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to the Board of Directors, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Negotiating, reviewing, and managing contracts to ensure the company's best interests are served.
  • Using QuickBooks for financial management and reporting.
  • Working closely with other departments to identify efficiencies and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you should possess the following

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a focus on federal funding, grants accounting, and contract management.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial management software.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
