Job summary

Boardwalk Pipelines, LP, is seeking a Director of Operations to lead safe, reliable, and efficient field operations across our gas transmission and storage assets. The role will report to regional leadership and oversee budgets, staffing, and compliance.

You will partner with regional VPs, area managers, and regulators to ensure DOT/OSHA/EPA standards are met, coordinate emergencies, and drive continuous improvement across the system.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of supervisory or management experience in natural gas or liquids industry.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to regulatory requirements (DOT 192, FERC, EPA).
• Knowledge of natural gas pipeline and compressor station operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain relationships with regulators, customers and stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and situations simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to pass required exams.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Drive safe, reliable, and efficient operations with leadership across field teams.
• Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA and industry standard compliance.
• Coordinate communication during events between field operations, pipeline control, and senior leadership.
• Lead emergency response activities as needed.
• Support recruitment, development, and succession planning.
• Support audits and inspections and ensure timely resolution of findings.
• Develop and manage annual O&M and project budgets.
• Prioritize capital, maintenance, and operational needs regionally.
• Coordinate effective use of employees, equipment, and materials across Area teams.
• Assess staffing, equipment, and resource needs with Area Managers and Supervisors.
• Support regional leadership with priorities and initiatives.
• Represent the company with customers, regulators, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Partner with Commercial, Engineering, Construction, Legal, and others to execute priorities.
• Support strategic planning and initiatives that advance regional objectives.
