Job summary

Austin Powder Company seeks a Director, Field Engineering to lead the engineering organization and the NA capital project portfolio. You will plan, develop, and execute projects at manufacturing assets, distribution sites, and strategic investments driving growth.

You will mentor engineers and project managers, set engineering standards, oversee safety, budgets, and schedules, and work with executives to enhance safety, reliability, and manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in engineering/manufacturing/capital projects or related operations.
• 7+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience in explosives, chemical manufacturing, mining or high-hazard environments.
• Strong PM principles, design, construction, commissioning familiarity.
• Effective communication, negotiation, stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across US/Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team across multiple facilities.
• Oversee all phases of capital projects from concept to closeout.
• Govern and report on portfolio performance, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety across projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts and reviews.
• Engage executive leadership with updates and strategic inputs.
