Job summary

Porto’s Bakery & Cafe seeks a Director of Facilities and Maintenance to lead our Southern California facilities operations across multiple locations. You will plan ahead, respond to urgent issues, and implement programs that ensure reliable operations and scalable growth.

You will oversee condition, maintenance programs, vendor partners, and the facilities team, partnering with bakery leadership to minimize disruption during improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in facilities or maintenance leadership
• Experience with large, high-volume restaurant or food production facilities
• Proven ability to build preventive maintenance programs and manage budgets/vendors
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems
• Spanish fluency preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a preventive maintenance program across major building systems and assets.
• Establish asset records, maintenance schedules, and replacement plans.
• Oversee repairs and urgent facility issues across locations.
• Lead remodels and facility improvement projects from planning to completion.
• Develop and manage facilities budgets and identify capital needs.
• Select and manage vendors across trades and contracts.
• Use the work order system to track activity and spending.
• Coordinate permits, inspections, and corrective work.
• Lead and develop the facilities team with clear maintenance standards.
• Develop response plans for major facility failures and outages.
