Job summary

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a strategic Director of Facilities to lead daily operations across maintenance, utilities, grounds, housing, and project management at the Prescott campus. This on-site role reports to the VP for Facilities and involves long-term planning, capital projects, and on-call after-hours response.

The ideal candidate has senior facilities leadership experience, strong financial and project management skills, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible facilities or engineering experience.
• Three+ years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of facilities management and auxiliary services.
• Familiarity with construction rules, bidding, and contracts.
• Ability to read construction drawings and interpret financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities personnel across multiple trades and service areas.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities and contractors.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance and improvement programs.
• Contribute to campus master plan and SOPs.
• Evaluate facility needs and provide options for planning.
• Oversee fleet, transportation, and shipping/receiving activities.
• Manage grounds, landscaping, and seasonal snow removal.
• Oversee contracted housekeeping and facilities upkeep.
• Manage construction projects from planning to completion.
• Coordinate with code officials on permits and inspections.
• Collaborate on campus projects with FF&E teams.
• Manage significant operational and capital expenses.
