Job summary

Renewyx LLC is seeking a Director of Estimating for its preconstruction team. You will lead an estimating group covering utility-scale solar and BESS, driving bid strategy from RFP to submission and owning risk assessment and pricing decisions.

This role collaborates with operations, engineering, and business development to keep bids sharp, with oversight of subcontractor pricing and basis-of-bid validation. Remote US work is possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience leading an estimating team on utility-scale solar or BESS projects.
• Strong grasp of risk assessment, bid strategy, and subcontractor pricing.
• Ability to lead through tight bid schedules and changing requirements.
• Proven EPC or GC estimating background from proposal through submission.

Renewyx has partnered with a growing utility-scale solar EPC to find a Director of Estimating for their preconstruction team. If you can lead an estimating group from RFP to submission, know utility-scale solar and BESS inside and out, and want real ownership over bid strategy, this role is worth a look.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators across utility-scale solar pursuits
• Own estimating strategy, risk assessment, and bid positioning from RFP through final submission
• Review pricing, assumptions, qualifications, and basis-of-bid decisions before submission
• Partner with operations, engineering, and business development to keep bids sharp and competitive

• Leadership experience managing an estimating team in utility-scale solar or BESS construction
• Strong EPC or GC side estimating background, from proposal through submission
• Solid grasp of risk assessment, bid strategy, and subcontractor pricing on utility-scale projects
• Comfortable leading through tight bid schedules and shifting requirements
• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

• Experience with BESS balance-of-plant estimating
• Familiarity with estimating and takeoff software such as Accubid, InEight, or Bluebeam
• Experience with EPC, design-build, or self-perform delivery models
