Alachua County in Florida seeks a high-level administrator to direct the Equal Opportunity Office. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years’ experience in equal opportunity work, including two in supervision, plus experience responding to state and federal discrimination charges.

The individual will oversee complaint resolution, ensure accessibility for disabled individuals, administer relevant ordinances, and coordinate with federal/state agencies.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in personnel administration, business administration, public administration, social services, or a related field
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in equal opportunity with at least two years in a supervisory capacity
• Experience responding to state and federal agencies on charges of discrimination
• Equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered

• Directs and supervises equal opportunity programs and staff
• Oversees a comprehensive complaint resolution process and civil rights compliance
• Ensures accessibility of County programs and services to individuals with disabilities and language barriers
• Administers the Human Rights and Wage Recovery Ordinances and reports to federal workforce agencies
• Coordinates compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and with civil rights laws
