  • Collect and interpret data during investigations; attend meetings in the absence of the Director.
  • Develop workshops and conduct training on equity and ADA issues for the University community.
  • Interpret equity policies for students, employees, and visitors; participate in university committees as assigned.

Florida A&M University's Division of Compliance and Ethics (Office of Equal Opportunity Programs) is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity Programs vacancy.

Responsibilities

Assist, plan, and implement equity programs and ensures compliance with Florida Statutes and rules and regulations of the appropriate governing agencies. This incumbent will assist the Director for Equal Opportunity Programs/Labor Relations in planning and organizing equity programs; Assist, plan, and implement equity programs and ensures compliance with Florida Statutes and rules and regulations of the appropriate governing agencies; Complete and coordinate Affirmative Action Plans with external stakeholders for the University and develop the Equity Accountability Report; and investigate complaint of discrimination and harassment as directed by the supervisor.

During the course of investigations, this incumbent will collect and interpret data, including materials of a confidential nature; Attend meetings in the absence of the Director; Assist in the development of workshops and conducts training programs for the University community as it relates to equity and ADA issues; Interpret equity policies on a daily basis for students, employees and visitors; Make presentations to University Search Committees in regards to equity issues; Serve as a member of University-wide committees when appointed by the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer or University President/designee; Assist the Director as needed with special assignments; and perform other related duties as necessary, including answering the telephone, organizing office mail, and drafting and sending letters associated with equity complaints.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
