Job summary

Element Resources seeks an Environmental Compliance Director to lead programs across our recycling sites, ensuring permits, regulations and policies are met. You will set priorities, define strategic direction, and drive day-to-day compliance with federal, state and local laws.

In partnership with operations, you’ll manage consultants, oversee permit renewals and RFIs, and develop site emergency plans. Deep knowledge of RCRA, NESHAP, NSPS and LQGs is essential, as is staff training and effective

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in environmental compliance.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing.
• 2+ years (Director/Multisite) in environmental permit and regulatory programs.
• Bachelor degree in Environmental Management, Business, Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Expertise in regulations: RCRA, NESHAP, NSPS, and LQGs.
• Ability to translate regulations into policies and standard work practices.
• Strong collaboration and presentation skills.
• Willingness to wear PPE and work in a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee environmental compliance programs to ensure permit and regulatory requirements are met.
• Lead hazardous waste regulations compliance, inspections, reporting and recordkeeping.
• Provide guidance on Hazardous Materials Management, waste management and spill prevention.
• Oversee environmental project work including remediation and EUC/ERC development.
• Develop site emergency plans and conduct drills; train staff on environmental requirements.
• Coordinate permit renewals, RFIs, and interaction with agencies; work with external counsel as needed.
• Manage consultants and vendors; ensure effective environmental program delivery.
