Job summary

Core Scientific, a leading provider of infrastructure for high-performance compute, seeks a Director of Risk Management to design and oversee enterprise risk strategies and reporting. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, risk management, or a related field is required.
• A master’s or MBA is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or healthcare is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks.
• Familiarity with risk modeling tools, GRC platforms, and data analytics.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially with senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, CRM, CFA, or CPA are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee enterprise risk management framework across the organization.
• Identify, evaluate, and monitor strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks.
• Lead risk assessments and scenario analyses to guide strategic and operational planning.
• Embed risk awareness into business processes across cross-functional teams.
• Oversee internal risk controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide risk reporting and analytics to the executive team and board of directors.
• Manage all facets of the Company’s insurance programs including property, casualty, aviation, K&R, D&O, workers compensation, and related policy updates.
• Develop and manage risk-related policies, procedures, and training.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external partners as necessary.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes.
• Foster open, respectful communication within teams and leaders across the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
