Future Form Manufacturing seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the Sales Engineering function across all locations, owning quoting, estimating, and design-for-manufacturability to deliver profitable, on‑time quotes and orders. You will set strategy, standards, KPIs, and staff the Sales Engineer team while partnering with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.

Competenze

• 10+ years in precision sheet metal, fabrication, or related manufacturing with quoting/estimating experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering or technical teams with hiring and performance management.
• Expert understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and cost drivers.
• Proven ability to build or improve a quoting/estimating process with measurable gains.
• Strong financial acumen: cost modeling, margin analysis, pricing strategy, and labor/material standards.
• Advanced blueprint reading, GD&T, and 2‑D drawing standards.
• SolidWorks design, modeling, and drawing creation; able to review and approve team work.
• Experience with ERP quoting/estimating modules (e.g., NetSuite).
• Lean / Six Sigma training or certification.

• Lead, hire, develop, and manage the Sales Engineering team across all locations.
• Lead the NPI team and set strategy for quoting and estimating aligned with growth goals.
• Own the RFQ‑to‑order process: intake, review, estimating, pricing, quote delivery, and order entry.
• Establish and maintain estimating standards, labor rates, material usage models, and pricing guidelines.
• Review and approve quotes above defined dollar, complexity, or margin thresholds.
• Define, track, and report department KPIs; lead margin reviews with Operations and Finance.
• Drive design for manufacturability with customers and internal teams.
• Partner with Sales leadership on account strategy and pricing decisions.
• Serve as senior technical point of contact for complex quotes and engineering changes.
• Oversee change order management and documentation; ensure accurate production release.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain on pricing; establish supplier price inquiry standards.
• Lead new job and product kickoff meetings with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Develop standard work and a formal training program for the Sales Engineering ladder.
• Evaluate quoting/estimating tools and ERP improvements; collaborate with IT.
• Manage department budget and resource planning; travel as needed.
• Maintain ISO 9001 requirements and participate in Lean activities.
