Job summary

Adtran, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Subscriber Solutions engineering director to lead a multi-team group responsible for software development, technology research, testing and related engineering services in areas including RG/AP with WiFi mesh, enterprise routers and switches, and VoIP gateways.

This position requires strong communication across technical and business inputs. You will collaborate with PU leadership to ensure alignment with product strategy, delivery schedules,

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-team engineering groups.
• Strong background in embedded systems and software architecture.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

• Establish a vision informed by business needs, PU strategy, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with PU leadership, product management, sales, and operations to align scope and scheduling.
• Ensure appropriate management structure and key roles within the team.
• Support team needs including budgets, capex, tools, and staffing.
• Lead design discussions with architects and senior developers to drive optimal solutions.
• Identify gaps within ART, PU, or across departments and bridge them.
• Maintain relationships with external partners for favorable terms.
• Develop yearly and quarterly budgets for the department.
• Provide high-level feasibility and tradeoff assessments to leadership.
