Job summary

Remitly seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the App Platform team, shaping the systems behind Remitly’s web and mobile experiences. You will own iOS/Android platform roadmaps, improve build and developer tooling, and drive higher velocity across engineering and product teams.

The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic bets, building leaders, shipping platforms, and elevating reliability and performance across Remitly’s global products.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical leadership experience, including 5+ leading multiple teams
• Experience building and operating platforms and tooling engineers use
• Track record hiring and developing senior engineering managers and principal engineers
• Leadership of native mobile platform organizations — iOS and Android — with release/build experience

Responsibilities

• Transform how Remitly builds, increasing engineering velocity
• Improve build systems, local development, and client infrastructure
• Own the native mobile platform roadmap for iOS and Android
• Place technical bets, run experiments, retire what isn’t working
• Hire and develop senior managers and principal engineers
• Maintain reliability and quality of platforms
• Foster a high-velocity, innovative team culture
