Millwork Recruiting Source LLC is recruiting a Director of Engineering for an established custom architectural millwork manufacturer in the United States. This hands-on leadership role oversees an experienced team of six engineers, sets technical direction, strengthens engineering standards, and ensures production-ready information reaches the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Extensive engineering experience in custom architectural millwork.
• Proven success leading an engineering department or technical team.
• Strong working proficiency in Microvellum.
• Thorough knowledge of millwork construction, fabrication methods, materials, hardware and installation.
• Ability to interpret architectural documents and translate design into manufacturable shop drawings.
• Strong judgment in reviewing complex engineering work and resolving issues before production.
• Proven ability to improve departmental processes while maintaining project momentum.
• Clear communication and collaborative leadership style.

Responsabilités

• Lead engineering department operations, including priorities, workload planning, technical standards and team development.
• Establish consistent drawing standards and quality review procedures before work is released to manufacturing.
• Apply strong Microvellum expertise to complex projects and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, completeness, constructability and alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project management and production to meet schedules, resolve technical challenges and support efficient fabrication.
• Oversee outsourced drawing work and ensure it meets company standards.
• Improve engineering processes to reduce errors, rework and production delays.
• Mentor experienced engineers, strengthen accountability and support their continued professional growth.
• Serve as the technical connection between engineering, project management and manufacturing.
