Job summary

USAM DC seeks a Lead Project Engineer (Millwork Engineer) to oversee multi-project lifecycle from drawing reviews to production release. You will collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and production to ensure timely, accurate submittals and updates across drawings and field dimensions.

The role requires strong architectural drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Microvellum, and solid communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience architectural drafting/engineering.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel.
• Experience with millwork production methods and fabrication techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to read and interpret architectural drawings/blueprints.
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and create submittal documents.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, engineers and production teams.
• Release drawings for production and subcontractors.
• Track status and completion of tasks from the Project Engineer Manager.
• Attend weekly engineering team meetings and discuss assignments.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to develop production drawings.
