Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks a Director of Engineering to oversee the facility's Engineering Division, ensuring the property's appearance and operational readiness. The role drives safety programs, capital projects, and budgetary controls across the hotel campus.

The candidate will coordinate with corporate Engineering, contract vendors, and partners to maintain compliance with codes and quality standards while leading a high-performing team in a dynamic hospitality environment in Orlando.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in facility management leadership.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to diverse situations and foster teamwork.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the exterior of the building, facility grounds, parking lot, common areas and all equipment in participant rooms.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections and train the staff on safety and emergency procedures.
• Respond to all emergency situations impacting the facility.
• Work with corporate Engineering on special building projects or capital expenditure needs.
• Review contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with vendors, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Requisition supplies and materials to complete building projects.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, colleagues, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
• Develop and implement building quality control programs.
• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
