Job summary

Hyatt is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the hotel’s maintenance department and uphold service standards. You will oversee the appearance and operation of facilities, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with corporate teams on remodeling and capital expenditure needs.

The role requires managing complex systems, ensuring safety, and guiding staff across maintenance disciplines to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years progressive hotel or building management experience.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Clear concise written and verbal communication in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions with vendors, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Plan, organize, and direct maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
• Inspect projects for code compliance and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with corporate staff on maintenance projects and capital expenditures.
• Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards.
