Job summary

Magnite is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams across New York City, Boston, Buffalo, and remote East Coast. This role owns software delivery, SDLC, and team development, while aligning efforts with business goals and product strategy.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance and scalability, and serve as a central technical liaison to stakeholders. A strong background in distributed systems and DevOps is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, 5 years in senior engineering manager role.
• Experience in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Experience leading teams with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on with large-scale, low-latency distributed applications.
• Experience with Hadoop, Kafka, Scylla, Cassandra or similar scale data technologies.
• Experience with Rust, Go, Spark or similar.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across multiple engineering teams including ownership of software development and delivery, SDLC, software quality, and people management.
• Align teams to business and strategic goals and drive performance reviews and appraisals.
• Mentor engineers and leaders, develop team capabilities, and ensure delivery against product plans.
• Communicate with stakeholders, provide status and metrics, and manage escalations to meet SLAs.
