Job summary

Bonterra is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Corporate Giving domain, uniting Deed, Grants, and the disbursement service, and driving the migration to a modern standalone platform. You will partner with Product and enterprise clients to shape a bold technical vision while ensuring SOC 2 compliance and scalable, secure cloud-based delivery.

You will build an organization, set standards, and coach engineers to deliver at enterprise scale, with direct collaboration across VP

Qualifications

12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in leadership.
Experience building and scaling multi-team engineering organizations.
Familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js and AWS serverless.
Experience with SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or equivalent.
AI-first mindset; ability to coach engineers to work with AI tools.

Responsibilities

Build and lead the Corporate Giving engineering organization, scaling from early-stage to fully staffed domain.
Own the Deed/Bonterra Grants product roadmap in partnership with Product leadership and drive system migrations.
Own delivery outcomes across the domain; establish metrics and ensure commitments.
Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and enterprise clients on roadmap direction and prioritization.
