Job summary

Jobot in Dallas seeks a Director of Engineering and Controls, Systems Integration to lead a PE-backed group building and delivering industrial control systems. You will own the P&L, drive growth with the sales team, and lead engineering, panel building, and controls teams to meet customer needs.

You will serve as the technical voice for architecture and design, ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA/IEEE/ISA/UL, and mentor a high-performing team across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or controls.
• 12+ years in industrial controls and automation with systems integration experience.
• Experience owning a P&L of $20M+ and growing a business, not just delivering.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networks.
• Experience in oil & gas, midstream, or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with low-voltage electrical systems in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Own a multi-million-dollar P&L, including revenue, margin, EBITDA, budgets, and headcount.
• Set and execute a growth strategy for the group alongside the sales team.
• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing engineering and controls team.
• Serve as technical authority for control system architecture and design: PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, DCS interfaces, industrial networks, and cybersecurity.
• Establish engineering standards and design practices across projects and offices.
• Ensure work meets applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, UL) and customer requirements.
• Balance engineering resources across projects and support commissioning and startup on complex work.
• Support proposals, scoping, and estimates, and build long-term customer relationships.
