Job summary

Chromalloy Tampa Castings is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the site’s engineering organization, overseeing production and process engineering, tooling, and NPI initiatives. You will drive automation, digital transformation, and capacity expansion while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You will manage ~40 engineers, partner across functions, and champion continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Materials/Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in aerospace/industrial gas turbine/advanced manufacturing.
Direct experience with aerospace investment casting processes (core, wax, shell, casting, finishing).
Knowledge of equiax, directional solidification (DS), and single-crystal (SX) casting technologies.
Proven track record leading large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Experience delivering capital projects, automation initiatives, or manufacturing technology programs.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, process control, quality systems, and product development processes.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders across levels.

Responsibilities

Lead site engineering functions across production and process engineering, tooling design, dimensional engineering, NPI, and PMA program execution.
Develop and execute engineering strategy to support site growth, capacity expansion, and operational excellence.
Drive automation initiatives including robotics, cobots, CNC integration, and digital manufacturing.
Sponsor rollout of TeamCenter and digital-thread technologies for PLM and data-driven decisions.
Partner with Operations, Quality, CI, EHS, and HR to hit performance objectives.
Improve yield, reduce scrap/rework, and drive engineering-led process improvements across core operations.
Lead tooling and dimensional engineering teams to meet production and NPI needs.
Develop talent and manage capital priorities to enable automation and manufacturing initiatives.
Interface with customers, program offices, and regulatory bodies on technical matters and compliance.
