Job summary

Greenbrier Senior Living in Villa Rica, GA, seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to lead maintenance, building operations, and safety initiatives for our senior living community.

You will oversee all physical plant operations, manage preventive maintenance, and supervise maintenance staff to ensure a safe, attractive environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in physical plant operations, facilities management, or maintenance leadership.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
  • EPA Certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Experience troubleshooting building systems and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all physical plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety programs.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules and work order systems.
  • Monitor the condition of buildings, grounds, equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects with vendors, contractors, architects, engineers, and service providers.
  • Oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
  • Administer the community Risk Management Program.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Assign, supervise, and support maintenance staff while promoting a safe work environment.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and forecasts.
  • Maintain maintenance records, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Train and mentor maintenance team members.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies and participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

Preferred Experience

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and perform the physical duties associated with maintaining a senior living community.
