Job summary

Pacifico Energy in Dallas seeks an experienced Director of Development to lead multi-technology energy projects from origination to Notice to Proceed. You will manage permitting, interconnection, stakeholder engagement, and commercial transactions, ensuring projects de-risked and finance-ready.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in energy or infrastructure development.
• Proven track record advancing large-scale energy projects through development stages.
• Direct experience managing interconnection processes and permitting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. power markets (ERCOT experience preferred).
• Demonstrated success negotiating development-stage commercial contracts.
• Experience managing development budgets and multi-year project schedules.
• Strong financial acumen with experience supporting project financing or M&A.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead origination and advancement of large-scale energy opportunities.
• Guide land acquisition and site origination to secure high-value sites.
• Shape market entry and portfolio growth strategies for target regions.
• Lead permitting efforts across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
• Develop and execute permitting strategies; oversee environmental studies.
• Interface with engineering to optimize site configurations and reduce permitting risk.
• Lead interconnection processes and coordinate with engineers/consultants.
• Negotiate development-stage contracts and support financing activities.
• Own development budgets and schedules; manage regulatory and technical risks.
