Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks an experienced Director of Emergency Nursing Services to lead the Emergency Department with strategic, operational, financial, and clinical oversight. Qualifications

• Master's degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
• Current New York State professional license or applicable certification.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible leadership in acute care.
• Five or more years of leadership in Emergency Department or high-acuity service line.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all clinical, operational, financial, and administrative functions of the Emergency Department.
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with SUNY Downstate's mission and goals.
• Lead change initiatives to improve access, throughput, quality, safety, and patient experience.
• Monitor and improve key performance metrics and regulatory compliance.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
