Job summary

BKV Group seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering in Dallas to lead the local electrical engineering practice, direct multidisciplinary project delivery, and manage engineering staff. The role reports to the VP of Engineering and signs/seals deliverables while establishing electrical standards and coordinating on business development.

This hybrid leadership and technical position involves mentoring talent, guiding client communications, and ensuring design accuracy across regional projects,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10 to 15 years of progressive electrical engineering design and leadership experience within the built environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Senior Electrical Engineer on assigned projects; direct calculations, specifications, single-line diagrams, and construction documents; sign and seal packages.
• Meet directly with clients to translate goals into compliant power, lighting, and life-safety systems; coordinate with Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Interior Design, and PM leaders.
• Manage daily workloads, project assignments, and scheduling for local electrical staff; monitor weekly revenue goals and discipline project budgets.
• Partner on workforce planning, interviewing, onboarding, 90-day/annual reviews, promotions, and compensation adjustments.
• Oversee development and refinement of discipline design details, BIM standards, and QA/QC with BIM Manager and tech leadership.
• Collaborate with Managing Partners and BD teams on proposals, fee estimations, client presentations, and practice growth goals.
