BKV Group seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Dallas-based electrical practice within the built environment and mentor a multidisciplinary team. You will sign and seal deliverables, set electrical standards, coordinate with Architecture and MEP leads, and drive business development while managing project budgets and staff in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10 to 15 years of progressive electrical engineering design and leadership experience within the built environment (commercial, multi-family, or civic projects).
• Expert knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and Energy Codes (ASHRAE/IECC); working knowledge of IBC, NFPA 72 (Fire Alarm), NFPA 101 (Life Safety), and NFPA 110 (Emergency Power).
• Professional-level proficiency in Revit MEP, BIM 360, Bluebeam Revu; lighting calculations (AGi32); energy compliance tools (COMcheck); power system analysis (SKM PowerTools); generator sizing software (Cummins GenSize).
• Leadership & communication: managing engineering teams, directing project budgets, presenting to executive clients, and resolving coordination challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead Senior Electrical Engineer on projects; prepare calculations, specs, single-line diagrams, and construction documents with signing/sealing authority.
• Meet with clients to translate goals into compliant power, lighting, and life-safety systems; coordinate with Architecture, Structure, Mechanical, Interiors, and PM leaders.
• Manage daily workloads, project assignments, and scheduling; monitor weekly revenue goals and discipline budgets.
• Partner on workforce planning, interviewing, onboarding, 90-day/annual reviews, promotions, and compensation adjustments.
• Oversee development of discipline design details, BIM standards, QA/QC procedures with BIM Manager and leadership.
• Support proposal development, fee estimations, client presentations, and discipline growth goals.
