Job summary

Osborn Engineering seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead a seasoned team in Detroit and/or Grand Rapids. You will steer power distribution, lighting, and controls design across healthcare, commercial, and educational projects, while mentoring staff and growing client relationships.

Applicants should have a PE license, 15+ years of electrical design experience, and a strong track record in leading cross-disciplinary teams in a complex project environment.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license required.
  • 15+ years of Electrical design experience.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Broad power, lighting, fire alarm, and voice/data design experience for a variety of building and system types.
  • Healthcare experience a plus.
  • Experience leading design teams and designing multiple types of buildings; both architectural and industrial.
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently and manage staff/clients.

This unique opportunity requires a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer interested in helping lead and direct a well-established Electrical team for a long-standing engineering firm. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead the team while partnering with our strong client base on both public and private sector engineering projects.

The successful candidate will be technically proficient in leading the design of Power Distribution, Lighting, Controls and Arc Flash Analysis systems for a number of different types of projects including Healthcare, Commercial, Educational, Institutional, and Residential. Prior Client and Project Management experience along with an ability to develop and mentor staff is desired. Opportunity for future career advancement is available.
