Job summary

GFT Ready Mix is seeking a Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to lead the development and implementation of safety policies ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires a strong EHS management background, exemplary leadership, and collaboration with all levels of the organization.

The Director will oversee audits, training, budgeting, and cross-functional integration of EHS practices, while mentoring a team of EHS professionals and staying current with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS management.
• Professional certification in EHS (e.g. CSP, CIH) is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for safe work practices.
• Manage the EHS budget and ensure expenditures stay within budget.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate EHS policies across the organization.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in EHS regulations and standards and ensure compliance.
• Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals.
