Position Overview

The Director of Dining Services is a key leadership role responsible for managing daily dining operations at the Grier School in Tyrone, PA. This includes overseeing culinary staff, menu planning, food ordering, scheduling, and ensuring high-quality service across various dining venues such as a café, dining hall, coffee shop, and catering services. The role emphasizes quality, cost management, and customer satisfaction, with a preference for catering experience and menu planning expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee food ordering, menu planning, scheduling, and staffing with a focus on efficient, quality service.
  • Plan and execute catering events, including upscale pop-up catering, emphasizing cultural diversity in menus.
  • Manage staffing for all shifts, including weekends, and oversee scheduling of culinary team members.
  • Develop diverse, culturally rich menus.
  • Manage budgets, control food costs, and handle financial reporting.
  • Serve as the primary culinary contact for clients, maintaining communication on menu preferences and service needs.
  • Lead and mentor the culinary team to uphold high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, OSHA) and internal quality standards.
  • Oversee daily operations of dining facilities.
  • Participate in food preparation and service as needed.
