Job summary

Better Business Bureau Heart of Texas in Austin, TX, is seeking a Director of Development & Programs to drive sponsorship revenue, strengthen community partnerships, and oversee Foundation programs and events. You will lead the Development Coordinator and report to the Executive Director, shaping Texas entrepreneurship initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Five+ years in fundraising, sponsorship development, business development, nonprofit leadership, or related field.
  • Leadership experience supervising employees.
  • Experience managing events, programs, partnerships, or community engagement initiatives.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to travel occasionally throughout Texas.

  • Manage Foundation communications, including social media and marketing content that supports programs and events.

  • Monitor program performance, budgets, and key metrics to support informed decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to implement strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.

About the Role

The Director of Development & Programs is a key leadership position responsible for driving sponsorship revenue, strengthening community partnerships, overseeing Foundation programs and events, and supporting the Foundation’s long‑term growth. Working closely with the Executive Director, this role provides both strategic leadership and hands‑on execution while leading the Development Coordinator.

What You’ll Do

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree, CFRE certification, or equivalent fundraising credential.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or mission‑driven organization.
