Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Director of Development to lead the hospital foundation’s fundraising program. You will develop and execute a comprehensive plan, manage major gifts, and collaborate with senior leadership to meet revenue goals.

You will build relationships with donors, board members, and clinicians, and ensure effective governance and stewardship across philanthropic initiatives. This on-site role includes NJ travel and strategic program leadership.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of professional experience in the development field.
• Demonstrated success with major gifts and campaigns.
• Established track record closing six- and seven-figure gifts independently.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Highly functional with Google and People Soft software platforms.
• Highly articulate and professional with strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospital foundation affairs, developing and monitoring a comprehensive development program.
• Direct major gift activity and donor stewardship within budget.
• Coordinate with CHE, Board of Trustees, and senior leaders to align fundraising strategy.
• Develop relationships with physicians, nurses, and staff to promote philanthropy.
• Recruit and orient new trustees and report to the board on progress.
