Job summary

Johns Hopkins University & Medicine – Development and Alumni Relations seeks a Director of Development to lead strategy and fundraising for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in East Baltimore. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Seven years professional level related experience, including one year of supervisory/management experience.
• Advanced degree preferred; fundraising experience in higher education is a plus.
• Proven major gift solicitation at $100k+; seven-figure experience is preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a complex fundraising team, directing personnel actions and ensuring goals are met.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies for a complex department; oversee stewardship efforts.
• Create and execute pipeline-building strategies using data analytics and outreach.
• Mentor and motivate team members; ensure compliance with university policies and donor intent.
• Cultivate and manage major and principal gift portfolios, including high-value donors and foundations.
• Collaborate with faculty and institutional leaders to align fundraising with strategic priorities.
