Job summary

Casey Trees is seeking a Director of Development to lead our comprehensive fundraising program in the DC region. You will work with the CFO and senior leaders to align donor initiatives with Casey Trees’ mission and budget.

You will manage a small team and coordinate with volunteer leadership to advance relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and government funders. You will oversee annual fund, institutional giving, and corporate sponsorship efforts, ensuring high-quality

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
8+ years in fundraising and development in a nonprofit environment.
3–5 years of management experience and a track record of leading a team.
Experience as a spokesperson for a brand or mission.
Experience cultivating donor relationships and soliciting major gifts.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide vision and leadership to Casey Trees’ Development Department to meet fundraising goals.
Develop annual and long-range development plans with executive leadership.
Set revenue goals across donor streams and allocate staff resources accordingly.
Create and launch new fundraising campaigns and streams.
Oversee donor relations, grants, proposals, and funder reports.
